My
brother and I recently traveled to the picturesque country
of Bhutan. I would highly recommend this country to anyone
interested in experiencing total peace and tranquility. I
found Bhutan to be the quietest place I have ever visited on
the planet. Many days during my tour, the only sounds I
heard for hours were the prayer flags gently flapping in the
wind. I found the people of Bhutan to be extraordinarily
genuine. Everyone I encountered was interested in me as a
tourist and as a person. The accommodations were adequate
and the site seeing was outstanding. From the rush of the
plane trip into Paro to the peaceful babbling of the rivers
teaming with fish, the experience of Bhutan as a whole was
one I found overwhelmingly satisfying and one that I enjoy
over and over again as I replay my vacation in my mind. My
tour guide and driver were extremely knowledgeable of the
country, the sites and the culture of Bhutan. Make Bhutan a
definite on your short list of vacation destinations.

One of the most memorable vacations we
have experienced was in the magical kingdom of Bhutan. The
scenery is breath taking; the people are gentle, willing to
do whatever they can to make your stay a great one. The
customs, especially the festivals, are unequalled anywhere
else. It was because of Daza Jigme and his colleagues that
we enjoyed, to the maximum, all that Bhutan and its people
had to offer. If you visit Bhutan you will never forget the
wonderful experience, if you visit it under Daza Jigme's
guidance you will enjoy everything to the fullest.

For those of you, who are deciding on a
trip to Bhutan, do not hesitate to organize your trek or
cultural tour through Daza Jigme, Bhutan Footprints Travel
and Tours. I spent two weeks in Bhutan this October 2006 and
being a woman of fifty traveling on her own was wary of
booking through internet and especially of paying a large
some of money to an unknown company. For those of you, who
have similar doubts and queries, please do not hesitate to
contact me by phone or by email so that I can describe in
detail my trip and answer any questions.
Daza Jigme, manager and guide, was efficient in the
organization of the tour, very attentive to my particular
wishes and flexible regarding the itinerary, knowledgeable
about his country including its history, culture, geography,
politics and Buddhism, honest and above all good company.
I will be returning with friends for a trek, having mainly
visited the country for the cultural characteristics by
daily hikes covering from Paro to Bhumthang and will
definitely be traveling once again with Bhutan Footprints
Travel and Tours. The country is unspoilt and its natural
beauty and the friendliness of the people all contribute to
a fascinating and pleasurable adventure.

Dear little (Daza) Jigme,
although I left my feedback with Thinley on the standard
form, I'd like to express also personally my greatest
thanks for being our tour agent in Bhutan. Sabine and I have
enjoyed the 2 weeks so much that it's hard to find words for
it. Everything was simply perfect. We honestly felt like
queens - especially with all the little children waving at
us when we passed by in the car ;) Thinley is a wonderful
guide who has a great knowledge about Bhutan's culture and
history. Moreover he's extremely caring and adjusted
flexibly to our preferences, and he is simply a nice person
to spend time with.
Shatu is such a cute driver - always having a friendly smile
on his face. And of course he knows all the roads/bumps by
heart. And he always parks the car that close to any
entrance that we thought more than once: if he could, he
would drive us right into the room. The 2 as a team are
unbeatable. They understand each other without words and
both have the same attitude, making our stay in Bhutan as
enjoyable as possible.
Everything was perfectly organized and I was more than once
positively surprised. All hotels were clean and warm, our
tent on the track stayed dry despite the night-long rain,
our sleeping bags were super-cosy-warm. All things that I
wouldn't expect in a country which is not famous for its
wealth. But obviously it should be famous for its quality it
provides to travelers. And the beautiful room in the palace
in Paro, with a view to the Dzong was the nicest
farewell-present Thinley could give to us.
We have only met briefly, but I understand why Monika talks
so fond of you and supported your start-up of your own
agency. You are a true entrepreneurial person and nice
company to be with. The Footprint T-Shirt served me well as
a sleeping shirt after the trek when everything else smelled
like horse :) And the baskets have also survived the trip
home in a good state.
I hope you have a good business during the upcoming
festivals. All the best,
Miriam
